WWII UNITED STATES MILITARY

History - in every century,
records an act that lives forevermore.
We'll recall - as in to line we fall,
the thing that happened on Hawaii's shore.
Let's REMEMBER PEARL HARBOR.
As we go to meet the foe -

Let's REMEMBER PEARL HARBOR

As we did the Alamo.
We will always remember -
how they died for liberty,
Let's REMEMBER PEARL HARBOR
and go on to victory.

~ Don Reid ~

They shall not grow old,
As we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them,
Nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun,
And in the morning,
We will remember them.

      Lest We Forget.

          ~ Elie Frangi ~

Among the men who fought... uncommon valor was a common virtue.

        ~ Fleet Admiral Chester Nimitz

Remember Pearl Harbor

"DRILL INSTRUCTORS CREED"

These recruits are entrusted to my care.
I will train them to the best of my ability.
I will develop them into smartly disciplined,
physically fit, basically trained Marines, thoroughly
indoctrinated in love of Corps and Country. I will
demand of them, and demonstrate by my own example,
the highest standards of personal conduct, morality,
and professional skill.

~ Semper Fidelis ~

Latin for "Always Faithful" adopted in 1883, by the 8th Commandant of the Marine Corps Charles G. McCawley.

~ W.R. Nichols, Corporal USMC ~ Drill Instructor - WWII Parris Island

but I am proud to be so severely tested and
proved adequate".

It's like you told me once
if we never saw each other again
it wouldn't make any difference
you didn't say it wouldn't matter
you said it wouldn't make any difference
and did you know I understood the nuance?
It was so long ago
but did you know?
"Moon in Libra" ~ Linda Goodman ~

A tale begun in other days, when summer suns were glowing ~

A simple chime that served to time
the rhythm of our rowing ~
